Tell me something about yourself
"My musical background is that of a young fan who became a musician, first as a symphonic double bassist supporting songwriters on the side, later morphing into a songwriter after years supporting gifted composers and lyricists. I am absolutely enthralled by melody and an art form that packs tons of emotion and thought into such brevity; Songs simply amaze me."
Tell me something about this song
"Emerald Tsunami came to me while lost in the Georgia countryside one cold and early spring morning. Beethoven's 5th Symphony was playing on NPR as I drove through electric fields of winter rye, I was rapt and tearful as his message came roaring through the speakers. I pulled the car over and wrote these lyrics through the end of the Fourth Movement. I then called into work, quit my job, drove home and put the words straight to the first chord progression to come out. The experience of writing like this was a door breaker, and worth the job I traded for the song."
